Evaluation

Each mission leads to a creative project for you and your partner to enjoy. You are required to follow the directions and complete each assignment as specified. Every two days I will hold a conference with your team to share information that you have gathered and answer any questions which you may have. It will be determined if your team is finding success in answering the key questions and doing a complete job of taking notes in your Prairie Log. If any areas need further investigation, time will be provided for you. I will offer suggestions on ways to expand your ideas. Before you begin, come to me, your Prairie Professor, for rubrics, which are ways to self-evaluate your projects. From each rubric you will know what to keep in mind as you work. When your entire project is finished, ask another group to look at it using a rubric, and share strong and weak areas. Make any changes that you see could earn you the highest number of points on each project! Last, evaluate the projects with your team and write answers to the following questions in your log.

SELF-REFLECTION THOUGHTS TO ASK YOURSELF!! HOW DID THIS EXPERIENCE CHANGE MY OPINION OF THE PRAIRIE?~~~ WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO RESPECT, PRESERVE, AND RESTORE PRAIRIES?~~~ HOW CAN MY CLASSMATES AND I USE WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED TO HELP PRAIRIES?~~~WHAT DID I LEARN FROM COMPLETING THIS WEBQUEST?~~~WHAT COULD I CHANGE IN THIS WEBQUEST TO IMPROVE IT?

EACH PROJECT HAS A RUBRIC TO HELP GUIDE YOUR PROGRESS. COME TO YOUR PRAIRIE PROFESSOR TO GET A RUBRIC FOR EACH MISSION. KEEP RUBRICS WITH YOUR PRAIRIE LOG IN A SPECIAL FOLDER.

WHAT WERE YOUR FAVORITE PRAIRIE PLANTS AND ANIMALS AS YOU ACCOMPLISHED YOUR QUEST? PERHAPS YOU WERE INSPIRED TO WRITE A STORY OR POEM ABOUT THEM! THIS MIGHT BE ONLY THE BEGINNING OF YOUR PRAIRIE EDUCATION! YOU CAN SEARCH FOR ARTISTS WHO PAINTED PRAIRIE SCENES AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOUR CLASSMATES. YOU CAN BECOME A PRAIRIE PROFESSOR IN YOUR OWN TIME!
